Pediatric Dentistry at Dental Clinic ALDENTAL
At Dental Clinic ALDENTAL, we understand that visiting the dentist can be a stressful experience for children. That’s why we strive to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere where they feel comfortable. Our team of experienced and qualified pediatric dentists is dedicated to providing the best care for your children.
WITH THE FIRST TOOTH, THE FIRST CARE BEGINS! This is a new period for the child, who excitedly discovers they can bite and gnaw, and parents are as happy as they are worried about the first care for their baby teeth.
With the first teeth begins the first cares. Parents mustn’t transfer their fears onto their children. With the child’s first experience, our aim is to draw their attention to oral care, to make them love this treatment, not fear it. Therefore, parents should arouse the child’s curiosity before the first check-up, rather than reassure them that there is nothing scary. During this first check-up, while informing the family about oral care and development, the structure of the child’s (baby’s) mouth and teeth is examined.
When should I make the first appointment with a pediatric dentist for my baby? The World Health Organization (WHO) and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend that the first dental examination be performed (usually between 6 months and 1 year) after the appearance of the first tooth.
Services We Offer:
Check-ups and Cleaning: It is important for children to visit the dentist for regular check-ups and cleaning to prevent cavities and other oral health problems. We recommend the first check-up be at 1 year old, and then every 6 months.
Fillings: If your child has a cavity, we can place a filling to restore the tooth. We use various techniques and materials tailored to the child’s age and needs.
Crowns: If your child has a severely damaged tooth, we may need to place a crown to protect it. We offer various types of crowns, including metal, ceramic, and composite.
Sealants: Sealants are a liquid coating applied to the chewing surfaces of teeth to protect them from cavities. We recommend dental sealants for children’s teeth at an early age, immediately after they erupt.
What is the purpose of applying dental sealants?
The purpose of applying dental sealants is to prevent the accumulation of food particles in the pits and grooves of molar teeth, to facilitate the cleaning of these surfaces, and to minimize the risk of cavities.
Which teeth are dental sealants applied to?
Only molars are treated on the chewing surfaces of the teeth by a pediatric dentist.
What happens if a dental sealant falls off?
Dental sealants can break down over time due to chewing pressure, and some may fall off. In this case, renewal is our responsibility.
Do dental sealants have any side effects?
No, they have no harm or side effects.
Should dental sealants be applied to all children?
Yes. This is important from the point of view of covering the fissures, which we consider as caries risk zones, preventing the formation of cavities, not leaving dental health to chance.
Is it an expensive procedure?
It is more economical than placing a filling.
Is applying dental sealants an easy procedure?
The placement of a dental sealant takes 3-5 minutes.
What happens if a dental sealant is not placed?
If dental sealants are not placed on the chewing surfaces of your child’s molars that are susceptible to decay, they will not be protected. Thus, the molar teeth, which are baby teeth but spend the longest time in the mouth, are at risk of cavities.
Orthodontic Treatment: If your child has teeth alignment problems, we can offer orthodontic treatment to correct them. We offer various types of orthodontic appliances, including fixed and removable ones.
Preventive Treatment: We offer various preventive measures to protect children’s teeth from cavities, such as fluoridation and topical fluoride application.
